Suppose you are a citizen of Pakistan, and you are determined to travel to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in 2025; you should know that new visa rules are set in this country. It has become compulsory to pay a non-refundable processing fee and undergo biometric validation whether on visit visa, family visa or work visa to Dubai or any other Emirati city.
New Visa application fee
The UAE Embassy has introduced the process of making the Pakistani applicants obligatory to forward a visa processing fee of 69 dollars (approximately 19,300 Pakistani rupees) to commence with the process. This amount should be deposited amongst an exclusive account in Al-Falah Bank, and the original bank certificate of deposit should be presented to the visa office.
Note: This fee is not refundable even when your visa is not granted. It is advisable to ensure that you are qualified before you do.

Additional Visa Charges
- Visa Processing Fee: 69 (non refundable)
- Visa Fee: Depends on the type of the visa and is only charged in case the procedure was successful.
Essential Visa Requirements for Pakistanis
You should collect the following set of documents in order to submit your application without delays and rejection:
- Visa Copy of application: Hand in a copy of your completed application on a cryptographic medium or in soft copy.
- Bank Statement: A 6-month bank statement in original with stamp and signature and minimum balance of 5,000 dollars (approximately, PKR 1.4 million).
- Good evidence of residency in UAE: Confirmed hotel reservation, tenancy agreement or the invitation letter by an existing UAE resident.
- Return Ticket: It is an absolute requirement in the applicants of visit visa.
- Passport & Photos: passport should be valid at least 6 months, copy of passport and recent passport size photographs should be taken.
Rules for Children’s Visa Applications
- Minors below 5 years: They need only one photo in a passport size. No necessity to visit the visa center.
- Children (6-15 years): Should attend the portal to have a live photo owing to the visa center. There is no necessity of carrying additional photos.
- Applicants 15 and over: are handled in the same manner as adult applicants and should go through all procedures of obtaining a visa.
Biometric Verification Now Mandatory
UAE has also increased biometrics checks on all visa applicants of 5 years and older. This includes:
- Fingerprint scanning
- Digital photo shooting
The biometrics are waived on applicants below 5 years old. Nevertheless, a person aged 5 years and above should undergo the process of biometric verification in the specified visa center without it, visa processing is not possible.
