    What Is Salik?

    Salik is a toll collection system in Dubai which is cashless, it will facilitate the movement of traffic and decongestion into the city. It charges vehicles automatically and eliminates the need to use the toll booths with the aid of RFID technology.

    Most drivers can pay a fee on Salik to enter parking but People of Determination in the UAE might be entitled to a Salik toll exemption.

    Who Is Eligible for the Salik Toll Waiver?

    The Salik waiver can only be applied by People of Determination who are person with a defined medical or legal criteria. These include:

    • Persons who have autism
    • Individuals who have visual, mental or physical impairversions

    Note: In a case where the person of determination is not the user of the vehicle, then the first or second-degree relatives may also be exempted.

    Documents Required to Apply

    In order to fill in your Salik waiver application you must have:

    • A photocopy of the basic vehicle registration card (Mulkiya) has been registered in the name of the individual of determination or their first/second-degree family member
    • A good copy of the ID of the applicant in Emirates form
    • A People of Determination card by the ministry of community development or a Sanad Card by the Community Development Authority (CDA)
    • Evidence of relationship in the case the applicant does not own the vehicle

    Recognized Relatives Categories:

    • Category 1 (First-degree): Parents, spouse or children
    • Category 2 (Second-degree): Grandchildren, siblings or grandparents

    Is There a Fee to Apply?

    No. Salik toll waiver application is free of cost. It is however valid within a year. Upon its expiry, you have to reapply to be able to enjoy the exemptions of the toll.

    How Long Does the Process Take?

    The procedure can take a maximum of 5 days of work after the submission of all the relevant documents.
