Prayers are sometimes adjusted a bit by mosques and local events. It’s good to contact your local mosque to see if there are any recent changes.

Preparing for Eid Prayer

• Fashion: Go for clean and modest, authentic clothes while you visit.
• Come ahead of time to claim your place, because mosques can get very crowded during prayers.
• Sunnah Described: Practice Sunnah includes having a ritual cleansing by performing Ghusl before prayers, eating something light before your prayer and repeating Takbeerat.

Performing Eid Prayer at Home

If you are unable to join the congregation for Eid prayer, you can do it at home.

Here’s how:

Set your mind to complete two Rak’ahs of Eid prayer.

First Rak’ah:

• Say the Takbir (Allahu Akbar) seven times at the beginning.
• Say Surah Al-Fatiha and add a second Surah to your prayer.
• Pratice the Rak’ah just as you normally would.

Second Rak’ah:

• First, say Takbir five times.
• Say Surah Al-Fatiha and add a second Surah to your prayer.
• Carry out everything in the Rak’ah and finish the prayer.
• Remember, no Khutbah (sermon) is given after the Eid prayer if you pray at home.

Eid Holidays in the UAE

Eid Al-Adha 2025 in the UAE will be celebrated with a four-day holiday from Thursday, June 5 (Arafat Day) to Sunday, June 8.
