The much-awaited Dubai Metro Blue Line is now fully under construction and will be opening expected in the year 2029 coinciding with the 20th anniversary of the Dubai Metro. The bedrock of this public transport growth was laid by HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum in June 2025 a part of which will be the most ambitious infrastructure development work of the city to date.

As the Red and Green Lines are already serving 600,000 passengers every day, the Blue Line will expand Dubai Metro s routes by 35 percent or one step forward towards the 2040 Urban Master Plan vision of the city.
