    Dubai Metro Blue Line Is Coming in 2029 — With 14 New Stations

    Great news to people residing and visiting in Dubai! The much-awaited Dubai Metro Blue Line is now fully under construction and will be opening expected in the year 2029 coinciding with the 20th anniversary of the Dubai Metro. The bedrock of this public transport growth was laid by HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum in June 2025 a part of which will be the most ambitious infrastructure development work of the city to date.

    The Blue Line will transform urban transportation providing 14 new stations, connecting people, facilitating the flow in highly populated and commercial spots.

    The Emaar Properties station, which is the creation of the makers of the Burj Khalifa, is balanced to be the tallest at an all-time high of 74 meters.

    • First Metro to Cross Dubai Creek:

    The line will be merged by a 1.3 km bridge overpassing the historic water way, which will be a scenic yet practical addition to the path.

    The new line of metro will connect 9 crucial regions in Dubai, which will enhance the possibility of commuting option both to the locals and the visitors:

    • Mirdif
    • Al Warqa
    • DubaiSilicon Oasis
    • Academic City
    • Dubai international Airport (DXB)
    • Dubai Creek
    • International City
    • Al Rashidiya
    • Area of Emirates Road

    This increased connectivity will not only make the daily commutes easier, but also connect the blooming residential neighborhoods and business districts to the city more effectively.

    Economic and Environmental Benefits

    The blue line is not all about the convenient trip: it is green and a growth project too:

    • Carbon Reduction:

    The new metro line meets the standards of green buildings and makes Dubai less carbon-dependent, as the demand on personal transport decreases.

    • Real estate growth:

    The prices of the properties around the Blue Line stations are also expected to grow by 20-25 percent, giving the surrounding areas an even higher value to the interests of investors and developers.

    • Passenger Impact:

    The new line will also support more than 320,000 passengers daily, which would reduce the load on major roads by 20 per cent.

    Having said that, experts had this to say to people.

    Transport expert Dr. Ali Ahmed said that,

    Its Blue Line is not a mere transportation growth, but a calculated step towards smarter and more ecological thoroughfare in cities. It is profitable to access, inject to economic growth, and ameliorate living conditions.”

    As the Red and Green Lines are already serving 600,000 passengers every day, the Blue Line will expand Dubai Metro s routes by 35 percent or one step forward towards the 2040 Urban Master Plan vision of the city.
